ISP Network Maintenance in Montreal Canada DC
CompletedMaintenance1 hour 24 minutes
  • CompletedApril 25, 2024 at 2:24 PMUTC

Our ISP reports maintenance has been completed and all systems operational. We saw about 61 seconds of outage during the maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this brief disruption may have cause and than you for your patience today.

  • UpdateApril 25, 2024 at 1:46 PMUTC

The maintenance is ongoing and has not resulted in any downtime yet. We hope to avoid downtime alltogether. However, things are running a bit long, so we are extending the maintenance window for another hour.

    Maintenance is now in progress
  • PlannedApril 25, 2024 at 1:00 PMUTC

Our ISP has alerted us they will be doing some brief maintenance in the Montreal DC this thursday at 09.00 AM Montreal Time or 15.00 CEST. The maintenance should be super brief and they claim we should see no more than 5 minutes of downtime, presumably just a few seconds.

We are however erring on the safe side and announcing a 1 hour maintenance window where you may loose connectivity.

Host node having issues in Finland
Resolved13 minutes
  • ResolvedUTC
    This incident has been resolved.
  • IdentifiedUTC

We have a host which has become unresponsive due to overloading of the swap space partition, making everything slow to a crawl on the system. The impact is on management facilities - servers running on the system are still running as they should, it's just your interactions with your server via. the Webdock dash which is impacted. We may need to reboot the system, in which case you can expect up to 10 minutes of downtime. We will update here if that turns out to be required.

Host node outage in Finland

  • ResolvedUTC

All customer VPS and block storage data has now been migrated and activated. We once again apologize for the long duration of this incident for some of you today.

  • UpdateUTC

All customers have now been migrated. We have yet to synch some data (such as snapshots) and add-on block storage for a subset of customers. Some customers may see a bit more downtime later in the day as we activate block storage, but that is yet to be determined.

  • MonitoringUTC

Migrations are completing as planned. We apologize for the long wait some of you may be experiencing. If you want your server prioritized for faster recovery, please write support.

  • UpdateUTC

We are restoring all customer servers on different nodes in Finland. Your server will come up soon from the latest snapshot available. If you want your server to be prioritized, write support and we will bump it in front of the queue. We expect the operation to complete fully within an hour or two. Thank you for your patience during this incident today.

  • IdentifiedUTC

The hardware failure looks to be critical. We are evaluating next steps and it looks like we may need to restore all customer VPS on that host elsewhere on our infrastructure from the latest snapshot.

Network outage in Canada
ResolvedMajor outage2 hours 26 minutes
  • ResolvedUTC

This incident has been resolved as of 8 minutes ago. We apologize for the long duration of this outage today, but it was difficult for the network team to identify the core issue.

  • IdentifiedUTC

Unfortunately this looks like a potentially long-duration outage as neither our team or ISP are able to identify the issue at this time. They are continuing work on analyzing the situation. We hope to be able to update with more concrete information soon.

  • MonitoringUTC

This is looking more and more like an equipment failure. Both our ISP and our network team are still diagnosing the issue and rebooting key equipment etc.

  • UpdateUTC

We are continuing to work on a fix for this incident. We see traffic stopping at our ISP in the datacenter and we can reach the internet from our equipment, which indicates (thus far) that this is some fault with our ISP. We are not under attack or anything like that. We will update here once we know more.

  • IdentifiedUTC

We are seeing a network outage in Canada. We are investigating the cause.
